SOCIAL SKILLS GROUPS

Our Social Groups
At Boca Developmental Therapy Center, our social groups give children opportunities to connect, play, communicate, and build relationships with peers in a supportive and engaging environment.
Rather than teaching social skills in isolation, our groups create meaningful opportunities for children to practice navigating real interactions with others. Through play, shared activities, conversation, movement, and collaborative experiences, children can develop greater confidence and flexibility while building the skills that support connection and participation with peers.
What We Focus On
Depending on the needs of the children in each group, we may support:
-
Connecting and engaging with peers
-
Starting, joining, and sustaining interactions
-
Communication and self-expression
-
Flexibility and problem-solving
-
Navigating different ideas and perspectives
-
Cooperation and collaboration
-
Emotional awareness and regulation
-
Confidence in social situations
Individualized Groups
Children are thoughtfully matched based on factors such as age, developmental needs, communication style, interests, and group dynamics. Our therapists adapt activities and support in the moment so that each child can participate in ways that are meaningful and developmentally appropriate.
Groups are offered on weekday afternoons after school. Please contact us to learn about current groups and availability.
